Ten years of Belgrade forum for the world of equals

Recently Belgrade Forum for a World of Equals celebrated 10 years since its foundation.
Solemn Academy was held on March 26th in the Students Cultural Center in the heart of Belgrade.
It was attended by about 300 guests from Serbia and abroad, including Serbian Diaspora representatives from many countries.
Tanasis Pafilis, Secretary General of the WPC (Athens), greeted the audience on behalf of the World Peace Council,
admiral Elmar Schmaehling on behalf of European Peace Forum (Berlin), Prof. Jelena Guskova (Moscow).
Zivadin Jovanovic, president of the Forum said that the Forum consists of courageous intellectuals and ideas of peace, solidarity,
justice and cooperation. He said that Forum has organized hundreds of public gatherings, attended many international
conferences and published over 50 books and publications thus earning national and international respect and
image of independent, nonpartisan association. Jovanovic recalled that the Forum stands for peaceful solution of all international
problems demanding dissolution of military pacts and foreign military basis, respect of universal human rights including economic, social
and cultural rights, respect of international law particularly the principles of sovereign equality of nations and territorial integrity. He thanked
all friends world wide for their solidarity and support to Serbia and Serbian nation in the last decade of 20th century, particularly during
and after NATO aggression in 1999.
During the Academy three new books of the Belgrade Forum were promoted – “NATO aggression – twilight of the West”, “Foreign Policy of Serbia”
and “Antifasist movement in Serbia 1941-1945”.
Cultural program was performed by renowned Serbian artists - opera singers Zivan Saramandic and Oliver Njego,
pianist prof. Nikola Rackov, popular melodies singer Nena Beric, poet Dobrica Eric and actress Ivana Zigon.
